Old Five Old "Dream Fulfillment Project": Celebrating a 98-Year-Old Grandmother's Birthday and Mother's Day
On the eve of Mother's Day in May 2025, TSH Biopharm joined hands with the Old Five Old Foundation and traveled to Erlun, Yunlin. Serving as "family for a day," our team accompanied a remarkable 98-year-old grandmother to celebrate her birthday and Mother's Day in advance.
The special guests of the day were the grandmother’s two children—her 81-year-old son and 71-year-old daughter. Time seemed to treat them with extraordinary grace; not only did they greet everyone with hearty smiles and robust health, but they also generously shared their wellness secrets: a deep passion for hiking, disciplined daily routines, and the elder son’s steady accomplishment of losing one kilogram per year over a decade—shedding a total of 10 kilograms! The grandmother herself was truly inspirational: completely avoiding sugary beverages, drinking only plain water, and remaining entirely free of the "Three Highs" (hypertension, hyperglycemia, and hyperlipidemia) to this day. Her radiant vitality offered valuable health lessons for all of us.
Throughout the celebration, we sang, danced, and cut the birthday cake together. A talented volunteer instructor also led an interactive balloon-twisting session on-site, crafting vibrant balloon flower bouquets that filled the room with genuine warmth and laughter.
When asked about her longevity secrets, the grandmother smiled and said, "I rise with the sun and rest with the sunset—every morning begins with weeding in my vegetable garden!" Everyone playfully joked about asking her to plant watermelons and cantaloupes next season, promising to return the following year to savor the harvest together.
Initiated by the Old Five Old Foundation, this "Dream Fulfillment Project" offered us a meaningful opportunity on the eve of Mother's Day to become family for a day and create lasting, heartwarming memories.
