In the warm month of May, TSH Biopharm volunteers visited the Shigang Day Care Center in Taichung, operated by the Old Five Old Foundation. As we stepped through the doors, we were warmly greeted by the seniors singing a welcoming song and performing an energetic traditional lion dance! Witnessing the elders' boundless vitality instantly recharged the spirits of our volunteer team.

🌾 Handcrafted Leopard Cat Rice Soap: Gently Stirring the Earth's Aroma

During the "Leopard Cat Rice Soap DIY" session, volunteers accompanied the seniors as they poured finely milled eco-friendly rice powder into melted soap bases. Through steady, attentive stirring and personally selecting their favorite essential oils, each completed bar was infused with its own distinct fragrance and heartfelt warmth.

🍙 Shake-and-Roll Rice Balls: Joyful Rhythms Filled with Laughter

Next came the much-anticipated "Shake-and-Roll Rice Ball" activity! By shaking the containers up, down, left, and right, the elders created perfectly rounded rice balls amidst delightful, rhythmic movement. Delighted by how adorable and delicious their creations turned out, many seniors inquired about purchasing options, hoping to bring the wholesome nutrition of Leopard Cat Rice home to share with their children and grandchildren.

What moved our volunteers most was the family-like rapport between the Shigang social workers and the seniors.
