The second session of TSH Biopharm’s 2026 Social Inclusion Volunteer Campaign, in partnership with the Old Five Old Foundation, unfolded warmly amidst cheerful laughter at the Chaiqiao Day Care Center in Hsinchu! Today’s event featured enthusiastic participation from TSH Biopharm volunteers alongside colleagues from our subsidiary, Chuang-Yi Biotech, who joined hands for the very first time. Together, we gathered at the Chaiqiao Center on Minghu Road, Hsinchu City, to spend an enriching morning with senior friends—blending sensory experiences with healthy physical movement. This cross-subsidiary collaboration symbolizes that our ESG sustainability and inclusive growth initiatives are expanding from within TSH Biopharm and rippling warmly across the entire group!

🌾 Handcrafted Leopard Cat Rice Soap: Gently Stirring the Reassuring Fragrance of the Land

The event kicked off with high energy from our volunteer team. First up was the "Leopard Cat Rice Soap DIY" workshop. We invited the seniors to pour finely milled, eco-friendly rice powder—cultivated through TSH Biopharm’s contract-farming support—into melted natural soap bases. As they gently stirred the mixture round and round and blended in their personally selected soothing essential oils, a subtle aroma of rice and botanicals filled the air during the cooling process. This delicate stirring and fragrance-blending activity not only provided sensory relaxation, but also served as a therapeutic exercise to enhance hand muscle dexterity and hand-eye coordination.

🍙 Shake-and-Roll Rice Balls: Shaking Up Intergenerational Joy and Wholesome Flavor

Next came the "Shake-and-Roll Rice Ball" activity, which sparked endless cheers and laughter across the room! To thoughtfully ensure swallowing safety for the elders, we prepared cooled cooked Leopard Cat Rice along with fine-grain baby-safe furikake (rice seasoning). Accompanied by our volunteers, the seniors placed the rice and seasoning into specialized molds, joyfully shaking them up, down, left, and right. Watching perfectly rounded, adorable rice balls take shape in their hands brought immense satisfaction to the seniors while providing beneficial upper-limb exercise through delightful, rhythmic motion.

Witnessing the family-like rapport between the Chaiqiao staff and the seniors deeply touched our volunteers. Each visit to the community now carries deeper significance by strengthening our group cohesion.
